The stories in this series take place over a span of 30 years, following the descent of a kingdom into darkness, civil war, and the reign of a tyrannical king in the modern world.

Book One, Over the Dragon’s Wall, follows Sage, a young girl who loses her mother, and is threatened with losing her father, brother and sister. When she crosses over into a strange land through an iron gate, she finds healing in unexpected ways, while uncovering the reality of an undercurrent of evil.

In Book Two (my current work in progress), we see this evil threatened to be unleashed in the world. A housekeeper’s daughter, Kavya and her royal friend, Marcus, are asked to wield the tools to fight it. But Marcus has his own plans, and Kavya can’t accomplish this task on her own.

In Book Three, Acacia arrives with her journalist father, intent on discovering what is happening to the musicians who are disappearing from Danbarrah. She and her new friend, Mikhail, never expected to encounter a dragon.

As an author, I grapple with trying to understand suffering, humanity, and truths about reality in my stories.

This quote says it better than I can:

“At the back of our brains, so to speak, there was a forgotten blaze or burst of astonishment at our own existence. The object of the artistic and spiritual life was to dig for this submerged sunrise of wonder.” –G.K. Chesterton
